Perceptions

Over the past couple of months, my life has become very repetitive and I have been dealing with a lot of mental health issues. I’ve come to realize that the more time you have to spare the more you think even about the smallest things. During this time, there is more time to look at other’s social media posts of photos or videos and the perception of other’s daily lives.

Social media has taken a toll on me and even my generation as a whole. Spending every day on tik tok, Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter for countless hours can change the way you see other’s lives and how you see your own. Having the platforms of social media during the pandemic has made dealing with it harder for me. Every day waking up between 10 am - 11 am, go on social media to see my other friends have woken up at 8 am and have already worked out and ready for the day. There are so many ways people have dealt with this pandemic, but there is only one that is shown on social media for others to see.

The perception of people’s daily lives hasn’t helped me cope with the way I want to deal with this pandemic. Seeing other posts on social media can be exaggerated a lot and I’ve come to realize that. I have come to realize to not have a fear of feeling left out or not doing the most, I’ve realized to do what makes me the happiest overall and to feel good about what I am doing. There are so many more things to juggle in life.
