[UNPUBLISHED:] In the music video for your new song, "only wanna dance," there are so many fun and nostalgic settings throughout, was there a favorite scene to film?
[COLE:] The bowling alley and roller rinks scenes were a lot of fun because we had unlimited private bowling and skating while we were filming there. The snow and pool table scenes were also fun because we went up to a cabin in the mountains for a few nights, got to ride some horses and shoot in snowy locations.
[UNPUBLISHED:] This song sounds like something that would perform very well live, did you have this intention in mind when you were creating it?
[LUKE:] We did. It was something that came naturally after being stuck inside for so long. Being able to play live again and going to shows ourselves, we were inspired to write something more high-energy.
[UNPUBLISHED:] After concluding your headline tour, what are some of your most memorable moments playing at venues?
[COLE:] This headline tour was such a special tour for us. It was great to play some iconic venues like Bowery Ballroom and The Troubadour. We had a fan come on stage one night and play a song on guitar with us in Toronto, which we’ve never done before. Another night, Dawson asked out a boy over FaceTime for a girl in the crowd which didn’t totally go to plan, unfortunately. As always, our hometown crowd in San Diego was a highlight for us.
[UNPUBLISHED:] The last couple of years have been huge for you guys, what has that journey been like both personally and for your music?
[LUKE:] It has been really cool to see people reacting to the music in real time. Touring America and elsewhere has truly been a dream come true for all of us. It has been going by so fast that I have to remind myself to look around and simply enjoy the moment. I am so grateful for every moment we get to play music and do it as a “job.”
[UNPUBLISHED:] What can we expect in the near future? Any big plans you can share with us?
[DAWSON:] Touring, new music, new videos! All the classics, but we’re really excited about the music we’re putting out this year. I definitely think it’s our best yet!
