Zoe Wees on Her Dream Collaboration, Getting a Post-Show Tattoo in San Fransisco, and Wanting Her Listeners to Feel Less Lonely Through Her Music
[UNPUBLISHED:] We know you played a show last night in Los Angeles, how was that?
[ZOE WEES:] That was very exciting because the label was there and it was a great show.
[UNPUBLISHED:] How does it feel to be playing Outside Lands?
[ZOE WEES:] It feels so nice. I’ve never been here, I’ve also never been to San Francisco so it’s all exciting and new to me.
[UNPUBLISHED:] Are you doing anything fun while you’re in San Francisco?
[ZOE WEES:] We are leaving tomorrow but I do plan on getting a tattoo before I leave. I don’t know what I’m getting yet but when I was in New York, I got three tattoos after that show so I want to get one here.
[UNPUBLISHED:] Do you have a song you’re most excited to perform?
[ZOE WEES:] I think I’m excited to play every song because I’ll never forget this day.
[UNPUBLISHED:] So you recently released your song “Third Wheel” in a regular and piano version, what was the inspiration behind wanting to put out both versions?
[ZOE WEES:] “Third Wheel” was so different from what I normally put out and I missed this emotional feeling. I really miss this Zoe feeling.
[UNPUBLISHED:] In a hypothetical world, would you rather be the third wheel a friend and their significant other every time you want to hang out with your friend or have your friend be the third wheel every time you go out with a significant other?
[ZOE WEES:] That’s so hard, I don’t know. I can’t answer that. Both are very shitty.
[UNPUBLISHED:] What do you think is the hardest thing about being a third wheel?
[ZOE WEES:] I think it’s that you have to accept it because you can’t change it. I think that is the hardest thing.
[UNPUBLISHED:] How do you want your listeners to feel when they hear this song?
[ZOE WEES:] Not just with this song, but all my songs, I hope they feel less lonely.
[UNPUBLISHED:] How do you think being from Germany has influenced your sound?
[ZOE WEES:] I like never listened to German music. I just don’t really vibe with it and I always listened to Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, and Billie Eilish. I think they influenced my music a lot.
[UNPUBLISHED:] Where do you find inspiration for your music?
[ZOE WEES:] I find inspiration through my experiences. I go through a lot like everyone else and I write it down.
[UNPUBLISHED:] What would a dream collaboration be?
[ZOE WEES:] Billie Eilish, I love all her songs.
[UNPUBLISHED:] Who are you most excited to see play?
[ZOE WEES:] That’s a good one. I know Jack Harlow is here and I’m excited to see him.
